Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes what hoply, a service of ModernRecs LLC, collects today and why. It is a plain-language placeholder, not a finished legal document: a lawyer has not yet reviewed this page, and the wording here will change before it is final.
What we collect
- Email address. Required to create an account and sign in. We use it to send your weekly picks email and other account messages.
- Phone number (optional). If you add one and agree to texts, we use it to text you sign-in codes and account notices. If a text cannot be sent, the code comes by email instead.
- ZIP code. Used to find events and venues near you and to route your weekly picks to the right city.
- Payment information (paid members only). Stripe, our payment processor, handles and stores your card details. hoply never sees or stores your full card number.
How we use it
We use what you give us to run your account, send the weekly email, show you relevant results for your area, and process payment for a curation subscription. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for anything beyond running and improving hoply.
Who we share it with
Stripe processes payments on our behalf. Our email provider delivers the emails we send you, and Twilio delivers our texts. We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties, and we never sell it.
Text messages
We text only members who add a phone number and agree to texts, and only for sign-in codes and account notices, never marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or turn texts off in your account settings; reply HELP for help.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We keep a record of when you agreed to texts and when you opted out, so we can honor your choice and show that we did.
Reports and blocks
When you report something, we see what you reported, who posted it and your note. We never tell the other person who reported them. When you block someone we keep a record of the block so it keeps working; they are not told.
Your choices
You can update or remove your phone number, turn off the weekly email, or close your account at any time from your account settings.
Changes
We may update this policy as hoply changes. We will post the current version here.
